DSV is keeping supply chains flowing.
The National Security Council of Belgium has implemented new measures in order to try and help curb the spread of the novel corona virus. The measures come on top of those that came into force at midnight on Friday, 13 March. Both measures will be applicable until Sunday 5 April 2020.

Overall, we follow the guidance provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the instructions and advice from the local Belgium government as well as our global DSV organisation. We have a Business Continuity Plan available on national level that is linked to the global BCP.
Air & Ocean Freight
We experience limitations on air freight capacity because of cancelled passenger flights and on sea freight capacity due to blank sailings and equipment shortage. Please be informed that despite the lock-down in Belgium, DSV can offer solutions on all destinations based on the combination of a large network and own controlled charters. Please reach out to your respective commercial contacts for schedules, capacity requirements you forecast and we will do our utmost to respond with solutions we can offer.
We are experiencing disruptions due to queuing at the borders, capacity issues, trucks and/or drivers being held in quarantine and restrictions in several European countries.
In order to be able to continue our activities, we must receive confirmation with every order that the loading and unloading location is still open.
If not shipments will be returned and the costs of the return are at the expense of the DSV’s customer. We want to avoid at all times that our warehouses become congested.
We are doing our best to ensure business continuity with all means available. Working from home has been implemented, but many of our warehouse activities require on-site presence. We prescribed preventative rules for all DSV locations regarding personal hygiene, social distancing and instructions for drivers and staff. Our colleagues at our warehouses are working proactively with our customers to understand logistics requirements for the coming weeks and plan our capacities. In line with our current business continuity measures, we now offer temporary emergency full pallet storage for overflow and blocked shipments following the disruptions on supply chains due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Please get in touch with any request!
These extraordinary circumstances, which are completely beyond our control, may result in DSV not being able to meet agreed KPI’s, SLA’s or leadtimes. Our customers are advised to work closely together with us to ensure business continuity.
Please be informed that many DSV colleagues are working from home. Therefore, we kindly ask you to send all your operational communication by e-mail.
We will do everything in our power to support you in keeping your operations running and will continue to update you as the situation evolves.
